August 31, 1978, Deva) graduated from the Composition department of the \u201cGheorghe Dima\u201d National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in 2002, where he studied under Prof. Dr. Hans Peter T\u00fcrk. In 2005, he obtained the academic title of <strong>Doctor in Music<\/strong>, specializing in <em>Musical Creation<\/em>, under the supervision of Acad. Prof. Dr. Cornel \u021a\u0103ranu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Cristian Bence-Muk serves as Professor, PhD, Habil. at the disciplines \u201cMusical Forms and Analysis\u201d and \u201cComposition,\u201d and is the President of the Senate of the Cluj-Napoca Academy of Music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His musical output includes choral, vocal, chamber, symphonic, and vocal-symphonic works, as well as chamber opera and ballet. He has received various national awards, including the \u201cGeorge Enescu\u201d Composition Prize of the Romanian Academy for 2021. His works have been performed in concerts both in Romania and abroad (France, Italy, Sweden, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, the USA, etc.) and have been published by publishing houses in Romania and Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a project director, he coordinated two research projects funded by the National University Research Council (2006\u20132007 and 2010\u20132013), which stimulated creation, performance, and musicological research in the field of contemporary music. He has been actively involved in various cultural and interdisciplinary artistic projects exploring the relationship between music and literature, painting, sculpture, and film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his contemporary music projects, beginning in 2013 he arranged and orchestrated 28 Romanian folk carols in a vocal-symphonic format (the CD <em>\u201cMaria se preumbla,\u201d<\/em> which includes the first 14 arrangements, sold over 10,000 copies).
